FoodFinder.net
FoodFinder.net is a project that I started about a year ago with the goal of creating a different take on restaurant ratings. The focus is the menu items as opposed to the restaurant itself, offering a point-and-click rating mechanism for each available dish. To go along with that, users can search for a specific dish by geography (e.g. where the hell can I get a muffuletta sandwich around here).
Another great feature for registered users is a rudimentary recommendation engine that will offer up dining suggestions based on menu item rating history.
The next release will offer performance improvements and a few new feature enhancements for the foodie community (specifically, managing lists of restaurants and menu items). Our real focus will be offering a suite of business tools for restauranteurs.
Swing Trader Application
Wouldn't it be nice to kick off a program and just watch it feed money into your bank account.
Picture, if you will, lounging on the deck of your small-to-middle sized boat, sipping cocktail
and just waiting for notifications on your mobile device about your earnings for the day. That's
the goal of the Swing Trader Application.
Now obviously, this has the sound of a pipe dream, but since I've been interested in the stock market for almost a week, I can effectively leverage my naivete. Plus, it offers a canvas to play with alghorihms, artificial neural networks, and evolutionary algorithms against a virtually unlimited pool of data.
